Uninspired

I've been feeling pretty uninspired about this blog recently. I've started posts, written about half, then deleted it because it was dumb/not interesting/far too nerdy (trust me on that last one-that cat needs to stay in the bag). However, I thought I'd share a few little snapshots from our lives...

  • Love IKEA! I visited Ikea last weekend and shrieked with joy at every turn. Seriously, that place is amazing. I also learned that Ikea is pretty gay. Everywhere I turned there were budding gay couples purchasing throw pillows to match rugs, to much trash cans for their new cohabitating lives.
  • We went to see Coraline in 3D. The 3D was awesome; the movie was ok. It was really scary and dark for me (an adult who still finds the discovery channel to be too intense). The other part of this movie that BLEW MY MIND was the 50 year old woman character who had breasts bigger than Pamela Anderson. No really, they were HUGE. This was kind of funny until she jumps out of her clothes and is only covering those gals WITH PASTIES! I'm sorry, you could see her triple E sized boobies in 3D detail! IN A KIDS MOVIE! I was horrified (and I'm not easily offended). If I were a parent, I'd probably write a letter. Body parts like that dancing around in a non-animated move would get an R rating.
  • It's American Idol season, which means Amanda can be found watching all the singing glory (and horror) for 2 hours on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I like AI when there are about 5 people left; right now, not so much. And for 2 hours 2 nights in a row. No thanks. However, according to facebook, I'm clearly the minority. I can log on and see that all my friends are watching every minute.
  • Speaking of Amanda, she's developed a new hobby. Not new to the world, just new to her. She now collects cans and bottles to receive the 5 cent return on them. We are trying to remind her that she is taking income from homeless people, but thus far, she's unphased. Hey, money is money, and I'll take it (especially if it keeps all those things out of the landfill)!
  • Oh and I totally ate the McDonald's free sample! CHICKEN NUGGETS BABY! It was so fun to get them for free, but man, my tummy really hurt after. Seriously, I don't know what's in those things but from the way I felt the rest of the day, it probably wasn't chicken.

I like the random-style post, but I also say "Bring on the nerdiness!" (btw, that boob thing was frightening...glad we haven't taken the kids to see that)

Hey! I have found my long lost friend yet again...aren't I a loser?!

A)THANKS for the adorable card via snail mail!!!!! LOVE IT!!! It is so fancy getting something in the mailbox without a window on the envelope, ya know? Adorable. Seriously. Love it. Thanks, friend.

B) I TOTALLY guessed right about McDonalds! See? I know you. So there.

C) I love your blog and you never bore. I am never disappointed. Boring and nerdy to you is entertaning and interesting to me. Maybe that makes me the boring one?
