We tried a new place last night

Back in the summer, my friend Meaghan tried to take Michelle and me to a new restaurant in Windsor called Chinois (sheen-no-ah) Asian Bistro. It was closed for lunch, however dinner was a treat. We met up with Rick and chipmunk. And I'll be honest, I was a little cranky because I was tired and hungry...didn't have much for lunch yesterday. We are seated immediately in the small place, and quickly forgotten. We probably sat for 10 minutes before a server talked to us. That part was not fun, but is important for the rest of the story.

Once one of our servers come over, things began to look up. Drink orders were taken...because I'm a grandmaw (cold and sleepy) I got coffee, which came in a cute little french press, Michelle got a Mojito. I don't really like those because of the edibles in the drink. Pretty soon the food came out...

Garlic Butter Shrimp, Spicy Red Curry Chicken
Both were delicious. The Curry was perfect with the coconut rice (rice cooked in coconut milk and water).

String Green Beans, Mushrooms and Chicken. Lemongrass Chicken Lettuce cups.

I really liked the green beans. They were cooked perfectly. Al dente. The lemongrass could have been more pronounced, but they were still pretty good. The lettuce was crispy...very important.

At this point our bellies are full and we are happy. We're looking for the check and I notice our servers, Alex and Sarah, are coming our way with what looks like dessert. We never ordered dessert. Sure enough, it was for us. Sarah admitted that we were sat and they forgot about us, so they wanted to apologize with free dessert! Fine by us! Plus the owner, Chang, recognized me from the golf course! Here's what we got;

Before
Coconut Creme Brule, Mango Panacotta, Coconut ice cream with candied walnuts.

After

It was delicious and we will go again. If you're local, check it out! Chinois Asian Bistro in Windsor.

Hello Amanda -

First of all, when were you guys so near Detroit and we missed each other! Alison and I LOVE Chansos's. My boss, who is from Windsor introduced it to me a couple of years ago and I one time when she was visiting me and now is it a tradition. If you are ever in the area again - let me know and I will meet you there for some yummy food!
