Old Things Feel New

Michelle lucked out this weekend...her bff, Sarah was in town for a quick visit and they took a little walk to the antique store and found this for $15. I wish I had taken a few more pictures of the before. This frame includes a mirror, and it was pretty dusty. So I cleaned it up and hung it on the wall just inside our front door. Our walls are a color that is a few shades lighter than cardboard, so the dingy, creamy colored framed mirror didn't really stand out. So, we decided it needed a little color. Our rug has some great colors in it; red, orange, olive, dark brown (Thanks, Mom!) We thought it would be great to match the mirror to one.

Enter paprika colored can of spray paint!!! It was an immediate transformation and exactly what we were hoping it would look like. And it actually matches the red color that is in the rug. Yay!

Final product! Stands out beautifully against the wall, and we got these hooks at Target. They are the kind that stick to the wall. Now we have a place to hang jackets, bags, scarfs, etc. Thanks to Sarah for the help finding this piece!!!
