Road trip to Tennessee
By the time we crossed into Arizona, we found this. We were never snowed on, but were on roads that had been hit before our arrival...and eventually got more after we passed through. We were lucky to have seen so little weather on the way. During our travels, we would drive for what seemed like 100 miles before seeing any civilization. I know it was less, because on our way back to Cali, it was about every 35-40 miles that there would be a rest stop. The longest pass is from Needles, CA to Barstow. 80 miles of nothing. Nevertheless, we made it. We listened to 6 books on CD on the whole trip. I think we may have actually talked to each other for a total of an hour during the 6 days of travel. We got in one fight, after having been on the road on the final day. We were about an hour from home and had been making great time. Had been driving at this point for about 9 hours, and then traffic came to a halt. The tail lights looked like blinking christmas tree lights. I was driving crazy and Michelle was nervous. The argument lasted about 45 seconds before I started laughing at the realization that we hadn't talked all day and were now fighting over the people putting on their brakes.
Here's a few photos of our favorite Beeler people.

Glenda the Good

Marlena and the Doctor, winners at the ugly sweater party.

The Dude
Once we arrived in Nashville, the weather had turned very cold and for the first time in a really long time, we saw a white christmas! It was wonderful! We were able to spend about 7 days with our Nashville family. We played lots of games of BananaGrams, Monopoly Deal, and Farkle. And we got a great gift from Michelle's parents...going to the see the Zac Brown Band live at the Arena with them and our favorite uncles, Paul and Tim.
Here's a few pics of our favorite Edwards people.

On the whole, it was a great trip, full of love, laughter, and of course, children full of glee over christmas. We miss all of them and look forward to seeing them all again soon!
December...a little dated i know
We went to Mexico in the beginning of the month to celebrate the union of some of our best friends. It was a beautiful ceremony, and a really fun week, filled with bonfires, karaoke, buffets, dancing, cards, trash talking, wave jumping, and jet skiing. It was so good to get away, and so good to be in a relaxing spot for 5 days in a row.
California weather
On the other hand, some of my wine making pals are nervous about this heat wave...worried about what's going to happen to the vines. Having to change the type of grapes grown here in this valley. I guess whatever is grown next will be the next best thing, since normally what comes out of this area is pretty remarkable.
